One 2,000-hour service, two prices for the same parts

A MAN D2848 LE403 owner got a U.S. MAN service-center quote for a coolant expansion tank and two heat-exchanger tube bundles. We priced the identical part numbers at wholesale, landed to his door.

Price my parts the same way

How it works

Six steps. You do the first one.

  1. Send part numbers

Use the form, email rfq@samepartmarine.com, or paste the dealer quote. MAN numbers look like 51.06102-6115; we also handle 81., 06., 07. and 04. series.

  2. We quote in 1 business day

Our supplier answers overnight, so most quotes land in your inbox the next morning. One landed price per line, lead time, and the quote's 7-day validity.

  3. Pay

ACH or wire, free. Card +3%. We order only after payment clears — that is how we keep the price where it is.

  4. We order and air-freight to Massachusetts

Export-cleared DHL or FedEx air to Boston. We are the importer of record, our broker files the entry, and the tariff is already in your price.

  5. Inspected and photographed in Webster, MA

Every box opened. Label matched to your order, markings photographed, damage check, repacked.

  6. Delivered, 10–14 days

UPS Ground or 2-day to your dock with tracking. You get a text or email at each milestone: quoted, paid, ordered, shipped, cleared, inspected, delivered.

Pricing

One landed price. Typically 20–30% below your dealer, and bigger orders save more.

Your orderTypical saving vs. U.S. dealer
$1,000 – $5,000 in parts15–25%
$5,000 – $15,00020–30%
Over $15,00025–33%

Savings depend on the part and on your dealer's price; every quote shows the exact number against the dealer quote you give us. Minimum order $1,000 of parts — freight, clearance and brokerage are mostly fixed per shipment, so below that the import stack eats the saving. Consolidate the small items from your next service into one order.

Quotes are valid 7 days. Exchange rates move; the quote holds the day's rate for a week. After that we re-quote at no charge.

What's in the landed price

  • The parts, genuine new MAN, at our wholesale price
  • Export clearance
  • Air freight to Boston (parcel for small parts; freight for tube bundles and heat exchangers)
  • U.S. duty and tariff by country of origin, confirmed from the label before we order
  • Customs brokerage and entry filing
  • Transit insurance, 0.5% of goods
  • Inspection, photos and re-ship from Webster, MA

Not included: sales tax where we are required to collect it (Massachusetts 6.25%), and the +3% card surcharge if you choose not to pay by ACH.

Need it faster?

For in-season emergencies we can ship direct DHL from our supplier to you, skipping the Webster inspection. Ask on the RFQ; we quote the express freight at cost and tell you what you give up.

Which engines

If it says MAN on the valve cover, we can probably price it.

Marine and truck MAN parts share the same 51.xxxxx-xxxx numbering, so almost anything in the MAN marine catalog has a wholesale price. These are the families we see most.

Don't see yours? Send the part numbers anyway. We quote by number, not by engine, so any MAN part number the dealer gave you is fair game.

For independent mechanics and mobile techs

Not MAN-certified? You can still buy at a price that leaves room for your markup.

You know the job. The dealer knows you can't buy at their cost, and the backorder goes to their own shop first. We answer the same day, ship to the yard, and your customer sees your invoice, not ours.

Send your first RFQ
  • Same-day quotesSend part numbers before noon Eastern and you usually have the landed price before you leave the yard.
  • Net-15 after three paid ordersSimple credit application. After that, order now, pay on the 15th.
  • You keep your marginOur price is your cost. Mark it up as you would any parts purchase. We never contact your customer.

Two more real quotes

Example #2 — real quote, October 2026

MAN 51.06401-6005 — pressure regulator, superseded to 50.06401-6000

U.S. quote: $9,000 each. SamePart, landed: ≈ $6,970, genuine new, about two weeks. The dealer's number had been superseded; the supplier quoted the current number — the same part under MAN's new numbering.

1 × 50.06401-6000 Pressure regulator, genuine new MAN$5,771
Import duty & tariff (est.) · air · clearance · brokerage · insurance · inspection & re-ship$1,197
Landed to your door≈ $6,970

dealer $9,000 · landed ≈ $6,970 · you keep ≈ $2,030 (23%) · ≈ $2,770 (28%) vs dealer with 8.25% tax

Example #1, freight estimated

The expansion tank and two tube bundles, shipped

The courier quote on the pressure regulator above was about $250. The expansion-tank crate plus two ~1.3 m tube-bundle cartons run about 55–65 kg chargeable (dimensional) weight — our estimate for DHL Express from our supplier to Massachusetts is $525–875; we price at $645 until the supplier's freight desk confirms. That lands Example #1 at about $25,650 instead of the $26,400 shown with a conservative $1,400 of air freight — a saving of ≈ $9,600 (27%) vs dealer parts-only and ≈ $12,500 (33%) with tax.

Every quote we send uses the supplier's actual freight quote, not an estimate.

Why it costs less

It's the same part. It just costs less where trucks buy it.

MAN builds marine engines on the same blocks, cooling groups and fuel systems as its truck and industrial engines. The parts share one catalog and one numbering system.

The same 51.xxxxx part numbers

The coolant expansion tank on a D2848 LE403 is 51.06102-6115 in Massachusetts and 51.06102-6115 everywhere else. The number encodes the part group (06 is cooling) and the part; it does not encode a country or a price.

Genuine, new, in the MAN box

We buy only genuine new MAN parts through authorized MAN parts dealers. No aftermarket substitutions, no “equivalent” parts, no surplus. If the box doesn't say MAN, it doesn't ship.

Priced for trucks

Worldwide there are hundreds of thousands of MAN trucks on the road, and a competitive parts trade to keep them running. Marine parts ride on that volume and that competition. In the U.S., the same part moves through a short dealer chain with marine-only volume. That difference is most of the 20–30%.

We handle customs

Export clearance, air freight, U.S. entry, duty and tariff, brokerage: all done by us, all inside the one price you see on the quote. You never deal with a courier's customs desk or a surprise tariff invoice at the door.

Inspection at Webster, MA

Every box opened before it goes back in a box

  • Part number on the label matched to your order — line by line, quantity by quantity.
  • MAN packaging and seals checked — box, label, any tamper seal, and the country of origin printed on the label.
  • Casting and part markings photographed — the number on the part itself, not just the box.
  • Damage check — machined faces, threads, O-ring grooves, tube ends on bundles, connector pins on sensors.
  • Repacked for ground — the export air carton is rarely enough for UPS; heavy items get a new box and foam.

You get the photos by email the day we ship. Anything wrong is caught here, in Massachusetts, not on your dock with the engine apart.

FAQ

Questions we get in the owner groups

Are these genuine MAN parts?

Yes. New, genuine MAN parts in MAN packaging, purchased through authorized MAN parts dealers. We do not sell aftermarket, remanufactured or surplus parts. Every part is opened and the label and markings are photographed in Webster before it ships to you.

What about warranty?

The part carries the supplier's and manufacturer's warranty on a genuine new part. If a part arrives wrong or defective, SamePart handles the return to the supplier and the replacement; you don't ship anything overseas. We do not offer a “MAN warranty” and are not able to process claims through a U.S. MAN dealer.

Are you affiliated with MAN?

No. SamePart is not affiliated with MAN Truck & Bus or MAN Engines and is not an authorized MAN dealer. We use the MAN name only to identify the parts we sell.

How do I know the part fits my engine?

Fitment is by part number, verified by you. Take the number from your dealer quote, the MAN parts catalog for your engine serial, or the old part. We quote exactly the number you send and we don't substitute. If you only have an engine serial and a description, we'll tell you what the dealer or catalog is the right source for the number; we don't advise which part fits.

Who pays the tariff and customs?

It's already in your quote. We are the importer of record, our broker files the entry, and the U.S. import duty & tariff are paid before the part reaches Webster. We true-up only if the tariff rate itself changes between quote and entry; otherwise the landed price is the price.

How fast?

10–14 days is typical: 6–8 working days for the supplier to have the part at their warehouse, 2–4 days air to Boston, one day at Webster, 1–3 days ground to you. Stock items are faster. For emergencies we can ship direct from our supplier to you by DHL Express and skip Webster; ask on the RFQ.

How do I pay?

In full before we order. ACH or wire is free; card is +3%. Verified mechanics can apply for net-15 terms after three paid orders. Payment is through Stripe; we don't store card numbers.

Can I return a part?

If it's wrong or defective on arrival, yes, and we handle the return to the supplier at our cost. If you ordered the wrong number, contact us before you open the box; we'll try to place it with another customer or return it to the supplier, less the freight and any restocking the supplier charges. Opened electrical parts are not returnable.

Is there a minimum order?

$1,000 of parts. Freight, clearance and brokerage are mostly fixed per shipment, so a single $30 gasket doesn't make sense by air — below $1,000 we usually can't beat your dealer and we'll say so. Bundle the small items from your next service into one order and the per-item cost drops a lot.

Have the dealer quote in hand? Send it.
